I like to buy books about flying for my friend's daughters, who are still preschool ages. This one was cute but I wish that the story didn't suffer the same deficiency that afflicts so many children's books: The stories aren't really coherent stories but rather are a series of related vignettes featuring the same characters. If you don't expect more than that, then this would be a five-star book.Product details

For Turbo, the uncertainty he faces is related to being adopted and ultimately flying to his new home. His adventure is sure to resonate with children who are facing fears of their own. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and capture perfectly Turbo's personality and physical features. Highly recommended for young children who are interested in learning about rescue animals, aviation, and overcoming fears!
As a pilot, and a new father, I have been looking for a childrens book that integrates aviation to my new daughter. The Turbo the Flying Dog book kept my 14 month old interested and engaged as she squeeled "puppy" at every page turn. You will laugh when you see Turbo's antics (bathtime is my favorite) the illustrator did amazing. My daughter was able to find her favorite aircraft, a hot air balloon, too!. This is an excellent story that shows the importance and joy of rescue animals, and how the author was able to integrate their new family member into their passion and hobby. With the multitude of childrens books that are, quite frankly, somewhat ridiculous... it is wonderful to be able to find one that hits so close to home. Cant wait for the next in the series!
Great kids book. I love the flying aspects since I'm a pilot and the pet rescue and adoption angle is fantastic. My granddaughter loves the book.

This book is a wonderful way to let children explore the basics of flight and discover what general aviation is really like, by letting them see it through the eyes of a cute dog named Turbo. The story walks the reader (and Turbo) through many aspects of flight in a small airplane and lets them watch Turbo change from an initial uncertainty to an ultimate love of flying. I can’t wait for the next installment. In addition, I love that this story reminds families of the wonderful rewards of pet adoption. Great stuff all the way around!
